Yastimadhu Ksheerapaka


Yastimadhi is familiar as licorice  is a famous ayurvedic herb. It is used household ,you might have heard chewing this herb  when someone's voice had gone. 

Ksheerapaka is  a formulation prepared using milk and herb resultant obtained is called as ksheerapaka. 

Ingredients;

Yastimadhu  bark coarse powder- 3grams,Milk- 25 ml,Water- 100ml

Method of preparation;

The following steps are followed while preparing ksheerapaka;

  • Yastimadhu bark powder is taken in a vessel and milk is added  subjected to moderte heat. 
  • To this sufficient quantity of water is added and boiled for some time till the powder emneded with milk and water. 
  • Next the contents are filtered and served hot. 

Dose ;

  • Adult - 25 ml/day
  • Children- 5- 10 ml/day

  • Good hair tonic
  • Relieves cough, coldand sore throat and provides good voice
  • Relives vomiting and exhaustion
  • Good expectorant, expels phelgm from lungs
  • Beneficial in allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis and bronchial asthma. 

Precautions;

  • Do not overdose quantity of tea. 
  • Do not use honey when it's too hot Or mix honey during boiling.
